[Newsgroups] To those who don't want to pay a full year in advan

Not trying to water down Astrawebs deal at all, however the amount of folks who were interested in pre-paying for a longer period with there deal, but didn't/ couldn't due to any number of reasons, for a full year.....We were matching the price for those who asked, and only asking for 6 months pre-pay, instead of a year. It got to be a pain doing the customized invoicing / accounting for each user that asked...So we will make the offer public for a limited time!

Again, this is more aimed at those who couldnt come up with the cash, or didnt feel comfortable paying so much up front. By the looks of discussions on the web, there are quite a few who feel this way.....Why not cash in on that, right?

The offer is displayed right on our homepage. »usenetnow.net

Re: [Newsgroups] To those who don't want to pay a full year in a

I was seeing some of the offers you have they look really well.
And I would be interested down the line, but so far only newshosting and giganews seems to max out my connection.
So i'm with newshosting since giganews is a little to pricey for me.

Yes, the subscription renews every 6 months for $48, until canceled.

Thank you swintec for this offer.

I have been happy with the Astraweb $11 deal but didn't want to stretch things out a year, to much risk.

This offer is just to good to pass up so I just signed up for your 6 months pre-pay.

Swintec, from your signup page:

"By Purchasing And Using An Account From UseNet.Net, You Certify That You Have Read And Agree To Our Terms Of Service And Our Privacy Policy."

Where IS your TOS and Privacy Policy? Spent 10 minutes yesterday on your site looking around and couldn't find either one.

Oops...They WERE linked on that page you saw that statement at (»usenetnow.net/services.php)...Also, the terms of service will be displayed when you begin the checkout process (you won't be able to continue without accepting it).

While I get those links fixed, you can read it over on Blocknews in the meantime, as it will be the same thing (»blocknews.net/node/7), just different website name.

EDIT-- Links fixed on site.

I think the quarterly options are still better than the six month. Things can change fast online, like the rapid response to the Astraweb deal proves. It reaches a point where there isn't much left ungotten and a long term commitment isn't as attractive as it once might have been. Astraweb or even giganews, could be googlenews tomorrow.

I'm not sure if there are any EU users that read on here that are our customers, but the EU server that was being replaced is up and running now. Those that connected to the EU server address and got redirected to the US server for the past couple of weeks will now be starting to connect to the actual EU server as your DNS servers update themselves with the changes. Will be sending out an e-mail at some point to let everyone know, and will also be posting it on our status page.

EDIT- SSL not quite working yet. , but you can connect up via non-SSL if you want.

Blocknews users, you will have access to an EU server most likely tomorrow.

Is the offer gone? I can't see it anywhere on the website. Only the $30.49 for 3 months.
