I can't help but wonder if he would have come back to the police cruiser to see what she wanted to tell him or even if he just would have given her just a bit of support at the scene if they would both be alive today.

He not only allows her to handle the traffic stop alone but also tells the cop he is mad at her ( from previous published reports ) which the cop tells her that. She must have been really pissed seeing him leave the scene in a cab while she goes to a jail cell. Thinking big bad tough football player just leaving a girl of 20 to take the full wrath of the law. I don't know but it seems he has been afforded a lot of courtesy by the police due to his name and previous occupation.

To think that after this incident she went right out and bought the gun from a private individual. Its not like she bought the gun a month earlier and had the murder-suicide all planned in advance. It was only after he completely ignored her at and during the traffic stop that she bought the gun. He left her out to dry so he could protect himself.

Fatal mistake dissing her when she needed him the most.

GemSnake : To be honest with you, if she set her mind on killing him, killing self after the fact only seems logical. This would've been murder one. I don't know if that state has death penalty, but even if she'd gotten life in prison and paroled after 20-some years, she would've been a 40-year-old+ on a street with literally nothing.

Metro Police Chief Ronal Serpas said at a press conference this afternoon that their interviews with Kazemi's friends and coworkers showed that in the last five to seven days of her life, the 20-year-old felt her life was unraveling.

She had recently saw signs that McNair may be involved with another woman, and she might have been worried about making rent payments and payments on two cars, including a Cadillac Escalade registered in both her and McNair's name.

“We do believe there was evidence that she was spinning out of control,” Serpas said.

Serpas said Kazemi shot McNair in the right temple. That was followed quickly with two shots to the chest from about two to four feet away. Then she shot him in the left temple, which Serpas said was a "contact shot" within two inches from his head.

Then she sat next to him on the couch, Serpas said, in such a way that police believe she tried to stage her suicide to fall into his lap. She shot herself in the temple. Police think she fell into McNair's lap, then gravity pulled her to the floor.

According to preliminary results from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the 9-mm pistol found underneath Kazemi's body was the same that killed both of them. While blood contaminated the gunshot residue test, there was trace evidence of residue on her left hand.

Serpas said Kazemi had become very distraught, and on two occasions told friends and associates that her life was all messed up and she "was going to end it all." Several things were overwhelming her, including financial problems, Serpas said. Her roommate was moving out, meaning her rent payment was about to increase. She was also making payments on the Escalade she co-owned with McNair.

Serpas said Kazemi saw McNair with another woman days before the murder and attempted to follow the woman, whom police said they talked to but Serpas did not identify.

Police also believe Kazemi purchased the gun in the parking lot of Dave & Buster's, where she worked, in the middle of a shift.

Serpas said there was no evidence that anyone else was involved, or that the crime scene had been tampered with by the men who found their bodies and called police that morning.

Serpas said they did not exact time of the shooting, but believed it happened sometime after 1 a.m. or 1:45 a.m. The next-door neighbor was not home that night, and arrived home between 6 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., and heard nothing after that.

Serpas said there were no drugs found at the scene or drug paraphernalia, but were awaiting toxicology reports on the bodies.

Twenty-year-old Sahel Kazemi was pulled over early last Thursday and arrested on a drunken driving charge. McNair was a passenger in the car.

Police released video of the DUI stop after they announced Wednesday that Kazemi killed McNair and herself.

In the video, Kazemi repeatedly asks an officer to have McNair come to the window of the police cruiser where she's sitting. The officer responds, "He's not happy." McNair, who wasn't charged, leaves in a cab without coming to talk to her. He later bailed her out.

Kazemi laughs and teases the officer but also says she's scared of going to jail.

sailor : I recall reading somewhere when the bodies were first found that this girls mother was murdered when she was just a little girl. Anyone know if her murder was due to a relationship? I believe she was murdered in Iran where she was from but am not sure.

sailor : It looks like this to me. His wife didn't know and after they got pulled over and she got arrested and booked into a cell for DUI while he was allowed to take a cab home he ended up telling her after posting her bail that they have to end it being afraid that the arrest will expose him.

She's madly in love, believed him when he told her he would divorce his wife and that she could move in with him, buys her the Caddy, trips and even her family gets to meet him.

Now she is devastated by his lies, goes out and buys a gun and goes to the condo by herself. He goes out to party and instead of going home comes to the condo and she is waiting for him and shoots him twice in the chest and once in the temple at a distance...then she walks over and shoots him again in his other temple from close range....One very pissed off and unstable individual. She then takes her own life. She figures she can't have him, neither will his wife or anyone else.

That is my theory.

Mechelle McNair didn't know of affair

An associate said Wednesday that the wife of ex-NFL quarterback Steve McNair didn't know about Sahel Kazemi before the 20-year-old woman was found dead alongside her husband on the Fourth of July. Mike Mu, who has worked with McNair's charitable foundation for years, said Mechelle McNair "didn't know who this girl is."

Robert Gaddy, who did not immediately return a text message to his cell phone from The Associated Press on Wednesday, said the the McNairs' Nashville home was on the market because they were looking for a new house.

Kazemi's family told reporters that the woman was so confident McNair was divorcing his wife of 12 years that she was preparing to sell her furniture and move in with the former quarterback.

"People need to quit talking about what they don't know," Robert Gaddy, who played football with McNair at Alcorn State, told The Tennessean. "Mac never said anything to me about he was going to get a divorce, and ever since this has all happened everybody is trying to paint a certain picture and they need to talk about what they know."

Gaddy did not immediately return a text message to his cell phone from The Associated Press on Wednesday.

McNair and his girlfriend Sahel Kazemi were found shot to death Saturday. Tennessee's state medical examiner said investigators have been hesitant to conclude that Kazemi killed the four-time Pro Bowl quarterback and herself because she didn't appear to have a motive, but that murder-suicide is the most likely scenario.

Mechelle McNair, who has not spoken publicly since the shooting, has been described by people close to her as being very upset and distraught. Mike Mu, who has worked with McNair's charitable foundation for years, said Wednesday that Mechelle McNair "didn't know who this girl is."

According to The Tennessean, the McNairs were looking for a new home for some time. A real estate agent told the newspaper he showed the couple another house more than six months ago.

Kazemi's family told reporters that the woman was so confident McNair was divorcing his wife of 12 years that she was preparing to sell her furniture and move in with the former quarterback.

"People can have all the theories they want, but we haven't even put my man to rest yet or put him in the ground," Gaddy told the paper. "Show some respect for the family. It's crazy."

McNair was being remembered Wednesday at the stadium where he played much of his career. The Tennessee Titans opened LP Field for fans to watch video highlights of McNair's 13-year NFL career, look at photos of the quarterback and had a book for them to write messages that will be given to the family.

The McNairs married in 1997, and Mechelle is the mother of two of his four sons. She met McNair while both were students at Alcorn State, though she also studied nursing in Nashville and became a nurse while he played for the Titans.

I figure his wife just had to know he was screwing around and that they probably were separated but what I find strange is his friend who he went 1/2's with on the rent found them both dead and didn't even dial 911 but called a mutual friend of theirs and it was that guy who finally called 911 to report it...But why didn't the guy who found them call 911? Probably because he knew McNair's wife didn't know of this affair and the guy freaked when he found them both dead and didn't really know how to go about reporting it at first. That is just my opinion of course.

No matter what comes out as factual I feel really bad for his 4 boys. They must be really confused and heart broken.

Hints of a problem with alcohol surfaced in May 2003 when a Nashville police officer pulled McNair over on suspicion of drunk driving. Police said the quarterback’s blood alcohol content was .18 percent—well over Tennessee’s legal limit. He also was charged with having a 9mm weapon with him, but all the charges were later dropped.

McNair was charged with drunken driving in 2007 because he let his brother-in-law drive his pickup truck. Those charges were later dropped when the DUI charge against the brother-in-law was reduced to reckless driving.

And McNair could have been charged again Thursday night when the same officer who arrested him in 2003 stopped a 2007 Cadillac Escalade driven by Kazemi and registered to both her and McNair. Kazemi was arrested on a DUI charge, and he was allowed to leave in a taxi.

in the press that hold up these athletes like they are something special OUTSIDE of their particular skills or abilities that lead many youths to waste their lives emulating these false gods.

McNair was an extraordinary athlete. Apparently he wasn't an extraordinary human being. People should learn to tell the difference. You can applaud the athlete while recognizing that the person is often much less than admirable. Look up TY Cobb sometime. A great athlete and a miserable human being.

This is what I'm thinking too. I just don't see her doing the murder/suicide thing over this. Sounds like the jealous boyfriend scenario.

Though much of the attention was on the Second Avenue crime scene, police also swarmed Kazemi’s apartment at the Cherry Creek complex in Hermitage on Saturday. They questioned neighbors who said they often saw McNair visiting Kazemi. Sometimes, neighbors said, she would arrive home in a limousine in the early morning. They also heard arguments between her and her boyfriend.

Most recently, she had a new black car she said was a gift from her boyfriend. She was arrested in that car, a black 2007 Cadillac Escalade registered to her and McNair, early Thursday at Broadway and Ninth Avenue, just two days before the deaths. She was charged with driving under the influence and refusing to take a breath test. She told police she was not drunk, but high.

McNair was in the car, a fact that was not in the police affidavit but was confirmed by police Saturday night. Police allowed McNair to take a cab home. He later bailed Kazemi out of jail, according to bail bondsmen.

Ex-boyfriend worried

Keith Norfleet, who said he dated Kazemi for four years before they broke up five months ago, was worried about her dating McNair, a married man. She met McNair while she was a waitress at Dave & Buster’s Grand Sports Cafe, he said.

Norfleet said he moved here with Kazemi from Jacksonville, Fla., where her family lives. She was raised by a sister. Her mother, a native of Iran, was murdered when Kazemi was 9, Norfleet said.

“She is the sweetest girl, and she did not deserve this,” Norfleet said upon learning of her death. “He was making her believe they were going to be together and everything would be perfect.”

Norfleet said they’d been speaking a lot recently and she planned to break it off with McNair. He said she banged on his apartment door early Saturday morning, but she left before he could get to the door. He spent much of Saturday afternoon looking for her and trying to find out if she was the woman who died with McNair.

“She was a very strong, independent girl. A hard worker,” said Norfleet, who had hoped to get back together with her. “She had a huge heart. She was very caring, very loving.”

Neighbors said she had turned 20 just a few weeks ago and described her as friendly and fun-loving though naive about some things. She was known as Jenny to her friends.

Tony Farahani, general manager at Dave and Buster’s at Opry Mills, said McNair frequently came to his restaurant, often bringing several people. He said he would not be surprised if McNair met Kazemi there. He described Kazemi as a solid employee, a workaholic with high energy.

“This is a tremendous shock, so unexpected. She was a bubbly girl and she was supposed to come today at 5 p.m.”

If that is what happened ( she shot him dead and then killed herself ) it could be because she was pissed after just getting a DUI and gets put in a cell but cops let him go ( which is ok being he was the passenger ) and he bails her out and then he goes out again and doesn't come back to the apartment until after 1 AM and she flies into a rage if she was sitting there all evening waiting on him. And it is alleged she told the cops after being pulled over in the Caddy he registered in both their names :huh: that she wasn't drunk at all but she was high. :huh: :huh:

No matter what comes out I sure hope for his wife's sake that she was aware he was stepping out on her and that he was making half rental payments on a pad with another guy and even bought and registered the caddy as co-owner with himself and this girl he started seeing a few months ago after she waited on him and his family at Dave & Busters.

It will really suck if this turns out to be just another wealthy celebrity who couldn't keep it in his pants while being married and his wife was kept completely in the dark.

I feel sorry for his wife and sure hope it turns out they were having problems and the marriage was broken and she was aware he was seeing another woman.

I did see a little bit of the Public Information Officer on ESPN a little while ago. McNair was shot multiple times. The woman, who's been identified, was shot once. They found a gun near her. They were in what he described as a condominium that McNair "co-let" with someone else whose name I missed. The woman had been arrested Thursday night for DWI; McNair was a passenger. They're awaiting autopsy results.

According to the Tennessean article she had an ex-boyfriend of 4 years who wanted to get back together with her. She had been seeing McNair (and vice versa obviously) for several months.

The owner of the building is Charles Cardwell, a well-known Metro trustee. Cardwell said the unit where McNair and the woman were found was rented to Wayne Neeley, who worked or still works at Nashville Sporting Goods as a salesman. Cardwell, who also lived in the building, said the apartment was often vacant but that McNair used it when he came into town.

Neeley had rented the apartment for about four years, said Cardwell, who also said he isn't aware of previous problems at the apartment, which is near McNair's restaurant Gridiron9.
