Well for me a little guy cloud computing for some things even storage is good if cheap enough. I have digital photos I do not want to lose. Store them at home then with backups another place then also online. Online is a third backup solution and benefit I can easily access from anywhere to show off photos.
If info was important I would just make sure to encrypt before storage. Plus always pick a decent company.
