| [Connectivity] Help new router won't work
Ok this one just baffles me.
I purchased a Belkin N wireless router to replace my D-Link 524 router.
Easy setup plug in power , cable from my modem to my new router everything is easy so far. The the light for modem and internet would not light up on the new router. Called tech help turns out the LINK light is not flashing on my cable modem so I reset the Cable modem, the LINK light would still not come on . So I tried to connect my laptop directly to the Cable modem ...uh oh the LINK light would not come on.
Then I replugged the old router back to the cable modem everything came online, went back to store and switch a router figure the first one might be a defect came home tried again still not working. So right now only thing cable modem will respond to is my old router.
Any help would be appreciate. |

| reply to VillageIdiot321 Turn off your computer and then need to reset the EMTA and then follow the instructions your router's manual tells you how to set-up your router. Read the manual or contact your router's help line. Router's are no brainers to set up, especially if you read the instructions provided. |

| said by EG :You could also utilize the recessed reset button on the rear of that eMTA.. Not every emta has those. Some of the RCA / Thompson modems even have the cutout, but no reset button in them. -- Tech at the Beach. |

| reply to VillageIdiot321 Great that you have resolved your router issue. With that, you are also seeing the additional benefits of PowerBoost,
