System Security 4.52 - help!

This is what it looks like: »fix-slow-computer.com/adware/uni···al-tool/

My main system has been infected by this. It kills ALL .EXE processes so I'm left for dead right now. Can't boot into Safe Mode because it blue screens. I can log into my XP Pro account but my wallpaper has changed to "Your system is infected blah blah blah" and a fake virus scan runs. All other processes are killed. I can't do a Hijack-This or any other .exe. Can't open System Restore, regedit, or msconfig.

Is reformat my only option?

Any way I can somehow configure a jump drive to make a bootable and access System Restore?

Can you do an online scan? Can you open Task Manager or msconfig?

Re: System Security 4.52 - help!

Unfortunately, I'm stuck at the desktop because it kills all attempted .exe openings, including Firefox/IE. :-\

Afraid not. Windows recognizes the jump drive but I can't open My Computer and nothing from the run/cmd will execute. This is bad...

Can I make a bootable Windows CD using BartPE and have it access System Restore on my C?

Try doing a repair install from the Win CD if you can. It may be blocked as an .exe. though. What a heck of a bind!

Re: System Security 4.52 - help!

Thanks man. Trying that now with my SP2 CD and will report on the results?

Has anyone seen this particular hijack before?

EDIT: Repair option just launched me into Recovery Console, which boots me straight into Windows. No help.
