registering--username

I tried to register maybe an hour ago. Filled in the required info, clicked register and got the error page saying cookies not accepted or blocked. Went to adjust browser settings and accidentally closed Firefox. Tried to register 5 minutes ago with identical info and it says my username is not available.

I wonder if the username really is not available or is the info I typed in the first time being retained and the second attempt is blocked as a result. Trying to use homerscousin. I tried Homer's cousin at first but the last 2 characters did not appear in the field. Is a username limited to 12 characters? Thank-you.

clubs:		 There is an account with that name that joined today. Try logging in with the account name and password that you set up before closing the browser.

Also you should have received an email to verify the account.
