Not sure why you would have to use the tenants facilities. Power can be run a good distance to be able to get power from your 120v outlet. The meter is strictly a location for grounding purposes. If the ground rod is there, they simply ground it, they do not get power there. You can run the ground wire I believe 20 ft. and the power another 35 -50.
