| Mysterious loss of Wi-Fi
I will try to make this short and quick.
Three days ago my Wifi worked. I woke up the next day and it did not work.
I use a D-link DI-624 revision E1 Firmware 5.00
Now, I know it must be the router because I tested two wifi adapters on my laptop; and connected to the local library's internet also.
I tried finding another post about the same issue on many other forums but came up with nothing. I could not find a firmware higher than 5.00. I tried resetting the router back to default to remove any security but that did not work, it only erased all my forwarded ports.
Any suggestions on what I should do would be great. And if worst comes to worst, i'm thinking of buying a linksys. |

| If it is of any comfort, I have a linksys travel router that worked for a while, then quit after a few weeks. It still works after a fashion. If I plug it in, the wireless starts working after about 2 hours. That's not particularly useful in a travel router.
I assume it is a failure of some electronic component. -- AT&T dsl; Speedstream 5100b modem; openSuSE 11.0; firefox 3.0.11 |
