Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest Clinic - Net Neutrality Hearings - PN 2008-19

CIPPIC will be representing the Campaign for Democratic Media in hearings next week that will determine the future of internet traffic management in Canada. The hearings will run from Monday, July 6 until Tuesday, July 14. CIPPIC will be appearing on Thursday, July 9, and will be live blogging the entire hearing on our twitter feed: cippic, »twitter.com/cippic.

"determine the future of internet traffic managagement"

They are putting way too much importance on what those hearings really are. There are just a way to say the CRTC listened and consulted. A way to sweep it under th carpet after having said "we did an extensive public consultation".

At least Finckenstein is supposed to be there. But less than a handful of commissioners. (makes you wonder why they make us make 20 copies fo our presenrtation when there is only going to be 5 or 6 people listening to our speeches).

Well I've lost almost complete hope in the CRTC. Finckenstein is a decent guy but ultimately the control is in the entire commission.
