Re: A very short but VERY awesome flashback of KROQ in the 80's I feel bad for kids now, radio was freaking awesome in the 70s (and in the 60s too, but I was a baby and didnt listen then  The jocks broke new acts and introduced us to them and generated excitement for them ('MMS broke out Bruce Springsteen and introduced David Bowie to the US). They sponsored huge concerts that everyone went to, and we all bonded over the music. I dont think that happens much anymore. Now the jocks are personality-less bores who play what the suits tell them to. Which is why I only listen to internet and satellite radio. |
