Re: How to Install Directx 9.0c in Win98? There are multiple versions of 9.0c since 2005. Apparently the last DirectX 9.0c version officially supporting Win98 was the original (first version of 9.0c) released 22-Jul-2004 (or the 08-Dec-2006 update for Win98SE). The most recent 9.0c update officially requires Windows2000 or above, despite what it says on MS download page. You might have to get an older version of 9.0c though I would try downloading the full installer first, instead of the web updater.
A quick search located this site with download links for the older versions if needed. I have not tested any downloads however...

There is also a disclaimer stating, "Above DirectX 9.0c Operating System requirements are likely not 100% correct, as conflicting information exists from different sources (e.g. Wikipedia)" so other, perhaps newer version may possibly run. |
