Same here. Connection to teksavvy-connected host was flaky for a bit, then gone at 02:24.

Yeah, I'm down too

Right now I'm tethered through my iPhone. Which, to get off-topic, is about the same speed as a 4 meg DSL line with 130ms of latency. It's pretty sweet. Of course I only have 6GB of data per month.

Wow, you've got a nice connection.
I'm tethered through a Moto Q9H, getting about 1 meg with 200-400ms =/

Same here, using friends Bell log-in and it's fine but my Teksavvy is down.

Re: 6 firetrucks at 151

Same here. bell login.

Funny/odd thing - when using this Bell login cannot connect to dslr. Cannot connect to cnn.com. Can connect to cbc.ca.

Using wget to pull dslr/teksavvy page goes like this:

However I can tracert to www.dslreports.com fine. WTF is up with 401 AuthReq's?

Am VNC'd into office right now. VNC rules.

The iPhone 3GS supports HSDPA, 7.2mbit. So I was testing at about 3.3mbit/s down and 330kbit/s up when tethered on my laptop.

Tethered to the desktop, the case and location is causing a bit more interference, I'm only testing at 1.2mbit/s down (and same up as before).

If only the iPhone 3GS also supported HSUPA then we'd get some nice upstream speeds too.

Either way, other than the extremely low bandwidth per month, it's pretty sweet for tethering.

Re: 6 firetrucks at 151

I'm also thethered with my iPhone now.

Did a speedtest and got 2.2down and 190k up.

What's the deal with the fire? This is bad news...

Wasn't a lot of TekSavvy's equipment in the Peer1 suite? I know they had moved a bunch of it out of there, but when that big a chunk of your network goes offline, I doubt they could get things up and running even in an emergency capacity without physically getting into the facility and rewiring stuff.

EDIT: If this is to be a very long-term multi-day outage, perhaps TekSavvy can hook us up with emergency logins from another ISP? Although I guess none of the others that aren't hosted at 151 like eBox have enough AHSSPI capacity.

Re: 6 firetrucks at 151

They said it all already, I just don't remember all the details. Unlike certain other users here, I don't bother to memorize every single detail of TekSavvy's operational details

So d'you rackmount your own UPS to compensate?

Re: 6 firetrucks at 151

no, I rackmount my servers in another 2 suites

I only run one box in Peer1, and that's my monitoring, and secondary IRC/NOC/LG/DNS servers.

But a few people DO have UPSes in their cabs.
