I would ask the same question that La Luna did, what browser are you using. I use IE8, Firefox and Chrome and all have an ability under Options to designate what folder you want downloads to save to. I too like to designate one Download folder then I install, move or what ever once it is done.

join:2003-03-01 | I am using Mozilla. I found the place to change where to download to. It was set to download to desktop. I don't know how that happened, but I changed it back to let me specify the location.
