The Guy isn't on vacation, lol. You need to call in to reset your password with a frontline agent. Either too many failed attempts, or your account got migrated,etc; those will cause the issue to exist.

As for the burst, I have not seen that before. What site are you using? and which server are you using? Also, what modem do you have?

I usually speedtest with 3-4 sites in Washington, Oregon and California, since they give better and more consistent results than local Canadian sites in Vancouver and Calgary (e.g. ping times under 40 msec instead of close to 200 msec for the Canadian sites). My modem is one of the old 3Coms, which you may recall works fine for the speed range my line is capable of, and it works far better than newer modems on long lines. As I said, my download speed remains consistent at just under 2 Mbps to all sites at any time of day, which is the limit of my line. But until a few weeks ago I could consistently get 650 Kbps upload - now it is consistently half of that, although it seemed to improve a bit after the procedure you suggested.
