Thanks for the helpful link to old Directx 9.0c versions. I tried old version found on FileHippo, but it didn't work. It's actaully Win98se I'm running, and the last Directx 9.0c version supporting Win98se was installed successfully. Nero Vision that needed Directx 9.0c now works as it should.
I find it strange Microsoft doesn't have older Directx versions on their site because they do have older versions of Media Player there. Maybe their agenda is to force customers to upgrade the OS. However, Win98se still runs some older apps that the newer Windows don't or runs older apps better than newer Windows. |

Actually MS does have older versions, but they still require validation to download. Just search the Download Center [»www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx ].
