MacGyver posted : I, too, think that DKS hit the nail on the head. The map that Thane_Bitter linked to shows it as a blue box - a body of water, albeit underground. The City of Gatineau emaps shows the site as having a property line (roll number 6234-04-4695) and the property is "non imposable" which translates to non-taxable. This could be government property of any kind, municipal, or federal. For reference, the nearby Centre Asticou which is occupied by the feds is also non-taxable.

I don't know about the City of Gatineau, but I do know that the City of Ottawa monitors some remote water/sewer pumping stations with simple wireless antennas like the one pictured.

Also, I bet the cameras are dummies.

Mark Z posted : Twas bushwhacking the Gatineau Hills and came across this installation, whose purpose baffles me. This thing is bigger than appears, the vents on the 4 corners are about 100FT square and the ground is raised all around there so I'm guessing an underground structure is covered underneath. Cold war installation or just an old dump they put a Police communications tower on top of? The topography of the area puts it on top of a fairly large hill and would give a commanding view if not for the trees. The road leading to here is actually paved, though not very well and is crumbling badly. Lots of cameras, but not a single no trespassing sign or signs of any kind aside from the one I took a picture of. That blue door has a heavy duty prison type lock on it.
