is mlppp strictly a pay service now?

I am sorry if this is a stupid question but I am not well versed in how most of this stuff works.

I switched to teksavvy in may because I was sick of Bell and wanted to avoid their throttling and bullshit messing with my account and increasing fees.

So I have been using mlppp since then. I don't seem to be able to connect to mlppp anymore. Is MLPPP a pay only service now? I do remember getting an email about it but I thought it applied only to those who had multiple lines, while I use only a single line.

If it is pay-only now, then will that also affect the virtualbox setup that evades throttling?

MLPPP is a pay service as it has dedicated hardware just for mlppp....

it is $4 /mo if you pay for a static ip alrdy you alrdy pay that $4 fee

If you already have a static IP you still have to call in or post on the direct forum to get it switched over though, your monthly charges don't change.

If you DON'T have a static IP, then yes it's a pay service.

100% a pay service for both single and multiple lines.

And yes because the virtualbox uses single link. But good news if you are just using windows you can get rid of the vbox and just turn on mlppp in windows.

This is after you tell teksavvy you want mlppp.

Pure newbie

I think that the above user is asking... if it is still necessary to buy the wrt54g router or can it all be done just through windows now. If mlppp can be implemented just through windows now, then how?

Pardonnez mon francais, SVP. Je ne l'ecris souvent.

In English:

That's precisely what the above user is asking. It can be done the same way as always, by enabling the option as seen in the screen cap above. As noted, you'll still need to pay the $4 MLPPP/static IP fee to TSI, and they'll need to enable it on your account. You'll also need a software firewall.

Merci beaucoup !
