Misinformation.
IF all 3 TVs are by phone jacks in an apt, the HPNA signal that usually travels on Coax in a U-Verse job can just as easily travel over 1 pair of Phone Line -- even Line-Shared with Dial Tone if necessary.
So if you have phone jacks near where you want TVs, then they can be ran HPNA over Phone Line. However, many techs are not comfortable with that setup. I have a STB/TV running on HPNA over Phone Line to my kitchen phone jack in my apt, so I can have a kitchen TV. It works great.
However, you will still need a jumper between the Phone Jack and the TV. It can either be Cat 5 or Coax. Cat 5 jumper means the HPNA balun will be right on the back of the STB. Coax Jumper means the Cat 5 Balun has to be close to the phone jack. |

Sharing with Dial Tone, does the UV signal go all the way back to the CO or is there a filter installed to block that? |

| If it is shared with POTS, it won't get past the VDSL splitter/filter.
If it is shared with VoIP. it is not connected up to the pair leaving the NID back anyway.
If I do this setup, I much prefer to dedicate a pair to HPNA use exclusively. But it can line-share w/ Dial Tone if necessary. |

I just went out to the NID and checked. So you are telling me UVerse is like LineShare DSL on Steroids? Only one pair for POTS and UVerse? |

POTS and U-Verse VDSL usually come to the house on the same pair. Occasionally though POTS will be provisioned on a single pair, and the VDSL conditioned pair will be a different pair -- in which case they come in on 2 different pairs. |

Thanks (again) for clarifying things. I have two POTS lines and UVerse. I have two pair providing those services. One pair POTS only and the other POTS and UVerse combined. I originally saw three pair in the NID and only now realized the 3rd pair is my old Northpoint SDSL (long since dead) pair. |
