| Copy & Paste Formatting
Hey all, I currently have FF v3.5 and copy/paste still does not work right. I cannot copy & paste an HTML table with all its formatting and paste it into Microsoft Outlook.
I already did a search on plugins for FF and that was a dead end, so my last resort is to ask if there is a mozilla browser that will do this.
I am tired of using IE8 but at least I can copy any from IE and paste it right into Outlook and it looks just like the webpage I just copied. -- I never thought something so simple would be so hard to find....... |

| reply to jferello Have you looked at Table2Clipboard:
"Mozilla applications allow to select rows and columns from a table simply pressing Control key and picking rows/columns with left mouse button. The selection can be copied to clipboard but the original table disposition is lost making ugly results when you paste the text on datasheet applications (eg excel). If you want to paste data in Microsoft Excel on OpenOffice Calc with correct disposition simply use Table2Clipboard. Pasting in plain text editors is also supported as CSV file (but you can change rows and columns separators from option dialog)" »https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1852 -- "You see what you want to see, and you hear what you want to hear" - The Rockman |

| reply to jferello Using outlook express and not outlook but the principle should be the same:
highlighted the text then pressed Ctrl button and C button to copy:

copied a html table using above method and put it in OE:

| I see that, and I can get it to do that on my end too however why does OE/Outook display the HTML code and not the generated result like when I copy from IE to Outlook? -- I never thought something so simple would be so hard to find....... |

I cannot copy & paste an HTML table with all its formatting and paste it into Microsoft Outlook. You're absolutely correct. The copying from one MS program never did paste correctly into FF, and it still doesn't with FF 3.5. I don't know what the bug is, but you can look for it yourself: »https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/ |

unacceptable. I have to be able to move text around easily. I uninstalled and went back to a previous version. |

| reply to jferello Do you have a page formatted in what you say is not working correctly?
I would like to try out a specific page that does not work for you in Outlook & wordpad.
Thanks. -- One good conspiracy theory deserves another. |
