| No Service at new address?
I recently moved to a new address; created the order on the 23rd for DSL and home phone (MRS), it was scheduled for completion on the 26th (phone) and 29th (DSL). I ordered my own modem (Dlink DSL-2540B) because I did not want to use the phone company's hardware. Phone went through great, no problem - working as of the 26th as promised. 29th rolls around, no DSL.
Call support after 5PM on the 30th, they told me the order was never created correctly; placed a new order for DSL - scheduled for completion on the 2nd. 2nd rolls around, No DSL - and the phone's out, too (no dial tone).
Called tech support, reported the outage - told me a tech would be out to check it by Saturday (4th); I should call Saturday afternoon if there is still no service. Saturday afternoon at 6:55PM rolls around - call support. (Cutting it close!). They told me that a tech would be dispatched and fix the problem by the 7th.
Aside from the massive frustration of not having any internet service since Thursday, June 25th (I was using T MRS and a CLEC at the old address, and transferred service to AT&T); I am concerend about any technical issued this may present. Is there anything I can do differently to address this problem? I've never worked with AT&T before; I'm not sure what to expect.
My biggest concern is that AT&T doesn't seem very interested in resolving the problem...quickly. I don't know if this is because of the way I am handling the problem - or some choice I have made (hardware? MRS + DSL?). I'm kind of kicking myself for switching from the CLEC in the first place at this point - when I first started up with the CLEC there were problems as well, but they communicated with me on a daily basis about resolving them quickly.
As there is no service I don't have a lot of technical information to provide. The DSL light on the modem has never 'lit up' (aside from about 20 seconds steady green on power on); so I don't believe there's ever been any kind of connectivity there.
Any thoughts/assistance would be appreciated. |
