@bellsouth.net | C**csat no converter box
I have C**cast basic with no set top box, just getting locals. Well they have been scrolling on screen that all channels will be switched to digital stations. If I buy Apex DT502 will that pick up the digital stations thru the cable line? Thanks |

1 edit | reply to beerjunkie If I am understanding properly it sounds like your cable providor is going to be sending a digital signal into your home via the coaxial cable.
IF you have a newer tv with a digital QAM tuner built in then there are no worries for you. You will just need to rescan after the change.
If you do not have a newer TV then DO NOT buy a convertor box. These are for over the air broadcasts and will not work for digital cable.
If you are in this scenario you will need a set top box provided by the cable company. It will be a digital cable tv tuner and will provide the proper conversion needed for older TV's |

| reply to beerjunkie You might ask in »Comcast Cable TV what clear QAM channels are available in your market. (Comcast markets vary ALOT just now as they're in the middle of a 2 (?) year process to convert all their markets to digital.) |
