| Premier Package and The Movie Channel
Just thought I would vent a little bit about my recent upgrade to the Premier Package. I called to see about upgrading my current programming to the Premier package and at the time of the call I was told all channels and premium channels were included. I was browsing my channels last night and noticed The Movie Channel East and East Extra were not coming in. I emailed Comcast and they responded by saying it is not part of the Premier package anymore. I'm not upset but feel mislead by this information. The Comcast.com website under the Premier package says nothing about not including The Movie Channel. Matter of fact in the channel line up the two Movie channels are listed. Comcast really needs to update their website to be more specific about what programming is included in their packages. I mean Premier to me means all available programming, specially considering the price. |

| I haven't heard of this. This makes no sense. If East and East Extra aren't even included in Premier, then in what package are they included?
I think the rep you spoke with is wrong - or Comcast no longer carries those 2 channels.
Do you receive a Not Authorized error?
I'd call in and speak with a rep.

| reply to Tbvindy A few months ago I changed from the Triple Play Premier promotion I had to the newest promotion which includes Ultra. After the change I noticed I lost The Movie channels. I called support and the CSR said that the Movie Channel is no longer included with any of the packages and the only way to get it is pay an additional $18/month. I cant imagine anyone paying that much for 2 channels we have available. I remember reading something a while back about it being removed from the packages of some other providers so it sounds like the Movie Channel is trying to run itself out of business. |

| My comcast system used to not offer TMC as a standalone channel to buy. Instead you had to have HBO, Cinemax, Starz, and Showtime, and you would just get it as sorta a bonus.
Now you have to buy it at $18 a month. I find it hard to believe anyone on comcast even pays for this channel. Its the most expensive, shows the same movies showtime does, and its only 2 channels with no HD. I suspect comcast will just retire the channel soon.
Its a shame, because I think its programed better then cinemax. They have more movie themes, I like how they promote the movies too. Cinemax seems too automated, when compared. |

Both TMC East & TMC West (SD & HD) are still on the Premium Package on DirecTV. and they also come with showtime on direct tv and some other cable co comcast wants $15+ /m for 2 channels. |

| quote: Around the end of the 1990s and early 2000s, Showtime began offering all of its channels as part of the Showtime Unlimited package and many cable systems, with the exception of Comcast, along with satellite providers DirecTV and Dish Network stopped advertising The Movie Channel as a separate network from Showtime and since Showtime Networks are only available on digital cable, many cable systems will not offer The Movie Channel to non-Showtime subscribers.

It appears that all providers include TMC as part of the Showtime Unlimited package, with the exception of Comcast. -- Mission Accomplished |

Comcast DID included The Movie Channel until earlier this year. I have had a premium package for over 10 years and The Movie Channel was always included until a few months ago. |

Of all the premium channels that are out there. TMC has got to be the absolute worst. I wouldnt pay 18 cents extra for TMC much less 18 dollars. |
