 | Actually Honestly I'm a little wary of the national broadband plan. I just hope it doesn't consist of subsidizing the current telcos to pay them to build fiber to everyone's homes. They've already stolen hundreds of billions over the last decade from governments and used it fund things like their cellular buildouts.
Unless the government is willing to create a nationally controlled fiber network that they lease to various carriers to provide service on, then I'd rather see legislation that "incentivizes" the incumbents to spend the money they stole on the networks they promised to build. Either that or just stop protecting the telcos and open up the market for competition. |
