| You can nix the setup CD if you want - however some manual intervention will be required.
1. plug in modemn (jack to modem, modem to computer), try to surf to a site. You'll be redirected to a page that asks for a username/password. Plug in the ones you were provided. Agree to the legalese. Your modem is registered and you should be able to surf the Internet. 2. Set up wireless. Might be a bit challenging if you're not technically adept, but if you plug in 192.168.1.254 into your browser, you'll go to the gateway (modem) setup page. The default password is 'telus' if you are asked. Look for wireless setup. This is assuming you don't have the Lite plan - the Lite plan only comes with a bare bones modem, no wireless. 3. If you wish to use TELUS Security Services, an optional download - www.telus.net, find "Security", and follow the directions.
If the above freaks you out, call 310-4NET and let them guide you through. -- - The content of this post is my opinion, and does not reflect the opinions of my employer. - |
