Netbook subsidies

Personally I think the subsidies are a GREAT idea, provided your intention is to get the service anyway and are willing to commit, just as you do with a cell phone. Europeans hve been sucking these up in droves for about a year now.

I'm just not quite sure I'm willing to commit to a contract, even though I've never gone over a 5 Gig limit tethering a cell to my laptop when I had the tethering options.

And with Wi-Fi almost everywhere these days, 3G is becoming less of a "must have" for mobility. This of course, may change with the coming of LTE and (hopefully) no (or at least liberal) data caps.

If they had no cap the mobile ISPs could do major damage to fixed ISPs. It may not be as fast but it can go with you and that is good. Am I the only one here who would drop my fixed connection in a heart beat for a decent priced mobile one with no cap?
