It should have a 240w power supply, a 1.8ghz pentium dual core, no hard drive(instead it has 521MB flash disk on module), 512MB ram(I think it uses so-dimms) and a graphics card. It runs a modified embedded linux OS.
At a minimum you would want a hard drive, optical drive and probably more ram, depending on the OS you wanted to run. There is a sata connector on the mb. You might be able to add a hard drive without a lot of trouble but I'm not sure about that.
Now how easy it would be to install an alternative OS I don't know. I'll see if I can find any information about that. I doubt that it is as straight forward as you would probably like it to be.
If you would have to buy a copy of an OS, wanted more ram, hard drive etc. then you would probably be better off just buying an inexpensive standard desktop unless you were just wanting to play around with it to what you can accomplish(but it doesn't sound like this is the case). |
