Re: I will admit ... said by SLD:Yeah, CNN is milking this cow to the point that they're destroying their reputation. Jackson gets a bigger frontpage spot than 911 every day since his death. Even now, after it is said-and-done, look at the homepage. There's a reason to that, and that reason is that FOX beats them on political news and current events, such as the Iranian election.
In fact CNN had its lowest ratings in 2+ years when the news of the Iranian elections broke - because everyone was headed over to Fox and to a lesser extent MSNBC. |

1 edit | News used to be something that wasn't driven so much by profit. The networks provided it as a "obligation" to their viewers. Since cable "news" has become popular, "news" is now thought of as a profit machine. Thus, good reporting dies and is replaced by popular "reporting". Fox made a mint off this, though they don't really report, but regurgitate other sources and discuss and spin it in a way that appeals to their wacko viewers. |
