If you're going to be stuck paying $60 per month for mobile internet service (and all of the major carriers charge about that much), you might as well get something back out of it. I've never found "being stuck in a contract" to be that big a deal. It just limits me to considering my competitive options every couple years, which is not so bad.  1 edit | Exactly. I would view the subsidized netbook as a 'bonus' when signing up for service. I don't think anyone should signup for service just because of a netbook though.
Too bad they didn't have this deal a few months ago when I signed a 2-year contract with Verizon for mobile internet. Oh well...
More on topic, I think an OS from Google could turn out to be great, or just another thing that no one really knows/cares about. Although it seems like theres a lot of news coverage regarding it.
