<description><![CDATA[dslx_gm posted : It all depends on the Verizon availability.  Unfortunately I couldn't give you a solid time frame, though I did see an order the other day that was only three days out.  <br><br>I believe that they still require a dispatch even if you had Fiber service previously.  I assume as they get greater penetration and coverage they may start going to a self installation model like they do for DSL. <description><![CDATA[dslx_gm posted : Rob,<br><br>Verizon doesn't have an easy ISP change process for their Fiber product like we have for most of our DSL services.  They require that you have a disconnect in the system prior to us being able to place an order on the line.<br><br>The installation time frame is based on the days you area available for install and the Verizon availability (workload) in your area at that time.  If you are flexible, when placing the order, I would recommend choosing that you are available "any day" during the week for install. <description><![CDATA[rob356 posted : I currently have Verizon FiOS, and want to switch to the DSL Extreme Fiber service. I know that DSL extreme resells the FiOS service, but verizon no longer has the package I want (20/5). Since I currently have service with verizon, I have learned that I have to cancel my FiOS service before the order can continue, which will involve 5-10 days of downtime! :o I would <b>REALLY</b> like to avoid that, or minimize it as much as possible. Was the DSLX rep accurate with the 5-10 days of downtime, I already have all the equipment installed, I shouldn't have to wait for a technician to come out. How can I not have 5-10 days of no internet??]]></description>
