Anyone in Windsor have Teksavvy / are able to tell me where the nearest CO is? Definitely looking to swap over. Cogeco jacked up their rates again and have admitted to throttling and DPI on your connection 24/7.
If I wanted to MLPPP two 5 mbps lines how much a month would that run me, 30 x 2 = 60 + 4 ...64.. any other fees?
Thanks..

2 edits | There's also a dry-loop fee if you do not have phone service on the telephone lines being used. This is like a tax that Bell imposes for the use of their line. This will cost whatever the "band rate" for your area is, typically about $8 per line without phone service per month. Edit: I don't have dsl at the moment, so I'm just going by what I've picked up around here. Someone else could give you a more detailed and definite answer. |

| reply to JesusBeamz Yeah, you're leaving out the dry band. If you have a phone line and want one on a dry loop it'll be band rate, if you want both dry it'll be bandx2. Cost of that is about $8-$10 depending on your rate band, Windsor is probably B but you'd have to double check to be sure.
Regarding speeds, it's highly dependent on your area. It's impossible to say what you could expect for sure, even knowing the city -- there could be a remote 50 feet from your door, or the nearest CO might be 6 km away and you won't be able to sync at all. Even if there is a remote, Bell might choose to add your line card to a CO that's farther anyway, etc etc.
Having said that, if you have a burning desire to know you can plug your area code and NXX into here:
»/coinfo/clli/
And it'll show you the location of the CO that handles that exchange. It doesn't guarantee anything but it might give you a rough idea. |

| reply to JesusBeamz There may be (and probably is) multiple CO's in Windsor, and your speed will be determined by your distance (or loop length, to be more specific) to the nearest one. It's also possibly affected by remotes, although Bell isn't required to let wholesalers use those. |

I have not seen any cases where Bell has refused to provide service to a wholesale customer on a remote that has available capacity. |
