Re: Ubee (Ambit) U10C035 Modem screenshots

NO ONE GET THE UBEE MODEM
it has bad firmware that causes the speed to deteriorate, and loose the ability to channel bond. It is generally crappy, and the web interface takes forever to load.

I am getting a Cisco DPC3000 tomorrow because of these issues.

great... now comcast only has ubee modems
I hope the tech can find a DPC3000 or SB6120 (hopefully the DPC3000)

The only issues I've had with my SB6120 were Comcast's problems, not the modem directly. Examples would be yesterday, they pushed a new firmware, which worked fine, but changed the config file they were sending to the modem so it had the wrong speeds. The modem wasn't at fault, it was just doing what it was being told to do.

Re: Ubee (Ambit) U10C035 Modem screenshots

no, it is definitely a problem with the modem. Ubee confirms, the newest FW conflicts with Arris C4 CMTS's. The old firmware is being sent out, and my speeds are now worse.

Re: Ubee (Ambit) U10C035 Modem screenshots

I haven't used an Ubee modem, so I don't know. I was just pointing out that not all SB6120's are having issues that are related to the modem. Even the non-D3 ambit modems are pretty junky though, I have seen my fair share of issues with them when servicing clients.

oh, ok. Well my speeds are back up to what they should be (well, not upload speed. That is still on QPSK and at 2.560 Msym/sec). I am still hoping for a DPC3000

I have the same thing with the new firmware and the wrong config.
Tech had me on the phone for 20 minutes just now and he can not get it to accept the ultra config
He said he would call back in a hour.

Sounds like the run around to me.

Re: Ubee (Ambit) U10C035 Modem screenshots

My issue was the config file had been edited on their end and was set to 3300/256 (YUCK!), their NOC got it figured out and dropped the right file on my local TFTP server, rebooted the modem and it was fixed. This is a different issue that your seeing. Sounds more like what n0xlf See Profile was seeing.

with the d11_m_sb6120_speedtierextreme2_c01.c config file today It seemed I was at 20/10 speeds. Dont ask. I dont know.

It did upload a 100 meg file at over 800KB avg

my downloads are over 30 Mb now with the ultra config but my upload is back to 5 Mb
Strange.

I have an SB6120 and when I connect to 192.168.100.1, there is nothing that tells me what config file is being used. How do you know?

I do not see it. Only one line in the log. Is Comcast locking down the log from view?

Re: Arris Touchstone TM702G Screen shot

Sometimes, I've had it both ways and it just depends. Right now my SB6120 states it config file, but it did always do that.

It seems to depend upon the version of firmware that is currently loaded into one's modem.

Have checked with ComcastSteve...he said might the limitations of this particular modem, cos he sees on three other same modem too, well my download speed will stay @ max 3.85 MB/s from MU or RS using Jdownloader with 5 download connections...so this will be my max. which I can't complain about. So getting a Bluray 4.3 GB files in about 15 minutes

Well, if it have all 4 bonding my speed might hit 50 Mb/s....that's can have only 3 now. At least I don't have 2 modems hook up.

Well, if you were having all 4 channels bonded you would have speeds like this:

I was getting about 33-35mbps before the D3 upgrade, so 34mbps x 4 = 136mbps

Re: Arris Touchstone TM702G Screen shot

I believe that it is important to note that those download speeds are of course *Powerboost* assisted, and that the accuracy of speed tests such as those are questionable..

I got one of these from Comcast yesterday after I upgraded my service to require the DOCSIS 3 (from 16 to 30). My speeds actually went down after I moved from the DOCSIS 2 Motorola SB5120 to this modem. The DS link was steady red, but the Comcast technician could see nothing wrong on her end. I was "getting data, so it's probably ok" According to speedtest.net, I went from about 18 Mb (with powerboost of course on the 16 Mb plan ) to 13. Today I went to Fry's and picked up the Motorola SB6120. After installing/switching out with Comcast, I was getting consistent 28Mb down and 8 up - so double. Talked to the tech about it today while I was switching out - he said he had very little experience with the ebee, most of the ones he had deployed were SB6120s. Suggested that maybe I "just got a bad one". Hmm, maybe.
