4 edits | I got the Ambit (acutually Ubee U10C035) modem for a D3 tier Never mind, I got the Ambit. There is an error with the config file though(I think): EDIT: never mind, I didnt look at the unit, It is equal to 160Mb/s
Still not sure about the Best Effort thing

| | | | Re: Ubee (Ambit) U10C035 Modem screenshots NO ONE GET THE UBEE MODEM it has bad firmware that causes the speed to deteriorate, and loose the ability to channel bond. It is generally crappy, and the web interface takes forever to load.
I am getting a Cisco DPC3000 tomorrow because of these issues.

Examples would be yesterday, they pushed a new firmware, which worked fine, but changed the config file they were sending to the modem so it had the wrong speeds. The modem wasn't at fault, it was just doing what it was being told to do. -- Duct tape is like The Force it has a light side and a dark side, and it binds the Universe together

| | | | | | | Re: Ubee (Ambit) U10C035 Modem screenshots no, it is definitely a problem with the modem. Ubee confirms, the newest FW conflicts with Arris C4 CMTS's. The old firmware is being sent out, and my speeds are now worse. | |

I was just pointing out that not all SB6120's are having issues that are related to the modem. Even the non-D3 ambit modems are pretty junky though, I have seen my fair share of issues with them when servicing clients. -- Duct tape is like The Force it has a light side and a dark side, and it binds the Universe together

| | | | | | | | | Re: Ubee (Ambit) U10C035 Modem screenshots oh, ok. Well my speeds are back up to what they should be (well, not upload speed. That is still on QPSK and at 2.560 Msym/sec). I am still hoping for a DPC3000 | |

| | | | | | | I have the same thing with the new firmware and the wrong config. Tech had me on the phone for 20 minutes just now and he can not get it to accept the ultra config He said he would call back in a hour.
Sounds like the run around to me.

| | rmoorePremium join:2008-03-14 Redmond, WA | I got one of these from Comcast yesterday after I upgraded my service to require the DOCSIS 3 (from 16 to 30). My speeds actually went down after I moved from the DOCSIS 2 Motorola SB5120 to this modem. The DS link was steady red, but the Comcast technician could see nothing wrong on her end. I was "getting data, so it's probably ok" According to speedtest.net, I went from about 18 Mb (with powerboost of course on the 16 Mb plan ) to 13. Today I went to Fry's and picked up the Motorola SB6120. After installing/switching out with Comcast, I was getting consistent 28Mb down and 8 up - so double. Talked to the tech about it today while I was switching out - he said he had very little experience with the ebee, most of the ones he had deployed were SB6120s. Suggested that maybe I "just got a bad one". Hmm, maybe. | |
