I'm considering getting FIOS TV, but I'll need the extended recording time. Verizon does not "officially" support this, I'd still like to try of possible.

Any feedback would be great.

Thx.

I've had FIOS TV for about a year now. I basically got fed up with shows being deleted before I watched them to make room for new stuff with the FIOS STB, so I switched to TiVo. The hard drive in the TiVos is the same size, but TiVo offers the ability to add an external hard drive.

TiVo works great with FIOS and has a lot of other cool features like watching streaming HD movies from Netflix (with a paid Netflix subscription) and transferring recordings from one TiVo to another or even to your computer.

Good luck with your decision...

darcilicious posted : Will not work. The firmware has the 160GB limit hard coded so that no matter what size you drive you hack (against the TOS) into the DVR, it will still only see 160GB.

You can either get multiple HD-DVRs or look at going the TiVo route. More info in the »Verizon FIOS TV forum.
