My parents took in a feral queen and her kitten... and they were terrors to deal with at first, especially momma cat. They are now some of the most loving cats I have ever seen.

So yeah, just because they were once feral doesn't mean they'll always be feral.
We took in a feral queen Siamese and her 5 kittens. 1 is a male Siamese and the sisters are all black.
They were born in our shed on our property.
They are all happy here and now behave normally after our loving care. Sadly, the mother died this past December of old age. We really miss her.
OMG! How do you handle all the "talking"? Siamese cats are notorious for the loud way they "speak"....
You should hear them at dinner time when they are hungry....

man, the shelters here are utterly useless.
I called and even went over there to explain the situation and they pretty much told me that they have more than enough cats/dogs to handle.

I contacted the vet I use and was told that it would be $80 to give a examination and some antibiotics.

and they won't do a pay by week thing either.
Most vets won't do a payment plan for routine visits, only for surgery or unexpected emergency care.

If the kitten has a runny nose, you really should try to get some medical care, a URI (upper respiratory infection) can be fatal to small kittens. He/she would need an antibiotic and should also be wormed by the vet (not with over the counter crap) and FeLV/FIV tested.

The "Humane Society" on Maui, HI. tattoos an ID # in the cats right ear, they register it and can call you if the kittie is lost or run over!

You don't live in Hawaii. We have NO rabies and never have. It would never cross my mind to be afraid of a kitten or puppy because they might have rabies although I can remember as a kid how awful it was living on the Mainland and worrying about rabies in pets as well stray animals.

You need to move to Paradise.

Well "Squishy" the kitten, me and the GF went to the vet today.

Squish was given a check up and she has round worm and given medication for it.
She was also given her 1st vaccination as well.
She wasn't given any antibiotics as her sniffling/stuffiness has dissipated.

Doc says that she's in good shape for a 1lb kitten.

Don't vets normally keep the cat overnight for worming?

That I don't know ( in regards to keeping the cat overnight for worming).

But we told the vet that cat will be kept from the other kitties for the time being.

Between me and you , it's still Yoshi.

The gf thinks that she can....oh snap...she's coming towards me...

gotta go

But "ms.squishy" is doing really well. Eating a lot, really active and all that.

Enjoy her. The kitten stage is so short and cute. Things should get livelier when she joins your other cats.

Yoshi and Squish have the same "sh" sound. Bet she could recognize both names as hers.

the gf is attached so we know the kitty is staying
Yeah, that's how it's happened in my house with the last three kittens we took in. Not that I'm any better, as I've always been a cat person myself, but my wife always tries to act like a hardass, but then once she sees the kitten, it's all over. I'll tell her that someone has a kitten they're trying to find a home for, and right away, she'll say, "Oh no! We have enough cats already! We're not taking in any more!" But then as soon as she sees it, she melts right into, "Oh it's so cute!"

We have six cats now, and we're not taking any more in, at least not until some of the other cats' times come. Just to be safe, we're staying away from people who are trying to find homes for kittens.

Here's some pictures of the Kitten *and a slight peek at the gf's cleavage*.
Is the cat resting on her hands or on the clevage?

I normally don't like cats but I don't mind that picture.

The kitten is on her hands.

My friend saw that picture and said " I'm not a cat person but....that's one lucky Puddy Tat". Hehe.

The "micro meow" is doing really good.

She was a real trooper at the vet's, with the injection(s) and the oral medication she had to take.

I've had one of my cats since she was a wee kitten. She had cancer about 5 years or so ago and was given 6 months to live after her surgery.

But here she is, 17 years old and still enjoying life...granted she isn't as active as she used to be, but that doesn't mean I love her any less.

She is beautiful and I am glad she beat the cancer.

Is there a picture of the kitty? I can't see one...but you said "she is beautiful" implying a pic.
