Suddenly one day he had a seizure late at night and I had him at the vet's at 7AM (after speaking on phone with him right after it happened at 1AM). My sweet Moxie was dead less than 48 hours later. He had a tumor in his chest that had metastasized to his brain causing the seizures. It was quite a shock as he had been the picture of health and had the energy of a much younger cat up until the moment of the first seizure.

You can google Hoversnap and it is still possible to get a copy of it although it was last updated in 2003.
I have a default jpeg size for when I do the screen captures which was probably larger than the original although I did crop it.

I opened Opera and I can see it there. I checked the properties and I could not see it on Fx because I have it set to not show images from third party sites unless I have put the site into my exceptions list. I would have allowed an exception for the photo if Fx had shown me a link but I see nothing in the post to indicate there is link to a photo on another site. That is something to do with a change in this site because I use to always see a link and could see what site the photo was on and decide if I wanted to view it or not, but recently I see nothing when someone uses third party sites for photos and screenshots so I don't know if there is a something in the post unless the author refers to their photo/screenshot.

It never fails to amaze me why someone would link to an unknown third party site for a picture instead of simply uploading to dslreports. The fact that Fx has this safety feature is one reason it is my default browser. (If dslr did not have upload capability that would be different as one would be forced to use third party sites). With Opera Unite now there is no need to upload photos to third party sites which is great.

Edit: BTW, your screen shot is far superior to that tiny photo.

Yeah, that's how it's happened in my house with the last three kittens we took in. Not that I'm any better, as I've always been a cat person myself, but my wife always tries to act like a hardass, but then once she sees the kitten, it's all over. Squish was given a check up and she has round worm and given medication for it.
She was also given her 1st vaccination as well.
She wasn't given any antibiotics as her sniffling/stuffiness has dissipated.

Doc says that she's in good shape for a 1lb kitten.

Most vets won't do a payment plan for routine visits, only for surgery or unexpected emergency care.

If the kitten has a runny nose, you really should try to get some medical care, a URI (upper respiratory infection) can be fatal to small kittens. He/she would need an antibiotic and should also be wormed by the vet (not with over the counter crap) and FeLV/FIV tested.

I have a 14 (pushing 15) year old "tuxedo" cat (what you have here now). He was an abused barn cat. At first he was a bit stand-ofish, but he has been my living companion and best buddy for a long time.

These cats typically have fantastic dispositions as adults, and excellent genetic lineages, meaning they will be a faithful friend for a long long time.

My suggestion would be to do what you can to make him/her part of your family. These cats make fantastic pets.

If you do keep him, 10 years from now you will thank me you did.

Like I said, mine is pushing 15 and he's still as playful as a kitten. Anything I dangle or toss at him gets played with.....

Those 17 people will be really sick when they get the bill for the rabies treatment. I just finished my last treatment today. It is a series of shots given 5 times over a 4 week interval on Day 0, 3, 7, 14 and 21 from exposure.

The first round of shots , on day 0, was almost $9,500. The rabies vaccine was $850. The imunogloben was $8,000 and the ER fee was $550.

Without the head you can't be certain if the animal was infected. Did you know you can contract rabies even if you just touch the saliva and rub you eye? You do not have to be bitten. Since I did handle the cat after the attack, I was at risk.

So the message: Be very careful when you pick up a wild mammal. It could cost you a LOT more than a $100. vet bill.

BTW: The only place you can get rabies treatment by me is in the emergency room. Doctor's offices do not treat.

I have 2 other cats , one looks like Morris the Cat (with freckles!) and the other is a grey tabby (he's adorable but he gets into everything...behind things, over things, etc).

So far we've been lucky, no cats trying to eat us....the occasional nibble here and there. :D

When we found the kitten yesterday he/she was hissing and all that. Later that night we sat in the bathroom with the kitten between us. Now it runs up to us and purrs and loves to climb all over us.
Especially me (as I'm shaped like a human bean bag).

That is just a single example of something bad happening that Fox news wanted to report. According to the CDC there have only been 37 cases of rabies in humans between 1990 and 2005 and rabies is only found in 3 to4% of cats.

Hmmm. Feral queens have feral kittens who are afraid of everything and anything (gotta be, raccoons, dogs, possum, cars, human, etc). Seems like you caught him eventually. But in my experience you can't catch them. So is he human tame or not? If he is feral, release him and let him be, kittens grow up to be ugly big cats that get sent to the shelter and killed. At the same time, it's actually pretty hard to pass it on to another cat unless they bite and draw blood. They can't pass it in food or water bowls. Teddy is now almost 14 and in good health. Maggie is 9 and still FIV negative.

So in well less than a year we had 18+ cats to find homes for. However, we did just that; -3 we still have. Friends with a pawn shop let me place a large cage there each day. All had homes less than 3 weeks after their weaning.

Mom got fixed (whew!) and off to a farm. She's a serious squirrel killer. We saved up and had our 3 fixed/vaccinated/whatever.

By now, I guess they'd number a hundred or more, without the humans intervention.

Even though the I AM attached, we first need to be sure of the kittens health. As much as I wouldn't mind a cat with health issues, the fact that we have 2 others already means any addition would have to be as healthy as they are. We are stopping in to see if we can get any assistance from the local shelters on preliminary vet care and if we can work something out with one of them and all tests come back good, the yes, s/he's staying.

As for a name.....we've been thinking about that. Thus far, we've come up with Yoshi (I'll let you guess who's idea that was) and Yeti. Yeti is an inside joke between us. Our parrots like to watch Nickelodeon cartoons and one such cartoon featured the main characters searching the ice for a yeti (who's call was "YETI - YETI - YETI - YETI - YETI")

I found that the county I'm in does low cost spay/neuters as well as feline hiv/felv tests.

pss - the kitty is now attached to the gf, crawling all over her. Damn lucky little kitten ! :D

A lot of them have a vet on staff and may be able to give you cheaper cost at minimum. In some cases they can be willing to help out at no cost if you call them ahead of time and explain the situation. ;)

I'm sitting outside of the apartment waiting for the gf and out of the corner of my eye I see this little tiny black and white blur. I turn around and low and behold it's a kitten (pics to follow).

We asked around the apartments if the kitten belonged to anyone here and the people I spoke too said no.
It took us about a hlf hr to finally catch the lil bugger as he was running under bushes, branches and shrubbery (knights who say Ni approved btw).
We have him in the bathroom, he's got a saucer of food and water.

The reason we have him in there is that we have 2 other cats and I don't know if he/she has feline hiv or leukemia. As much as I'd love to keep him I don't think I can afford to have him checked out by my vet.
I can swing the food / toys for him but the initial checkup is going to be expensive.

Are there some sort of free/ pay what you can shelters that give him/her a look over?
