Re: I found a kitten. Thanks for the replies and suggestions! I found that the county I'm in does low cost spay/neuters as well as feline hiv/felv tests.
pss - the kitty is now attached to the gf, crawling all over her. Damn lucky little kitten ! -- "They moved my desk 4 times already this year and I used to be over by the window and I could see the squirrels and they were married, but then they moved my desk and they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler. |

Feral queens have feral kittens who are afraid of everything and anything (gotta be, raccoons, dogs, possum, cars, human, etc). Seems like you caught him eventually. But in my experience you can't catch them. So is he human tame or not? If he is feral, release him and let him be, kittens grow up to be ugly big cats that get sent to the shelter and killed. Its more natural for him to deal with natures problems (starvation/disease/etc), than be locked in a cage for a month then put to sleep. |

So yeah, just because they were once feral doesn't mean they'll always be feral. |

Based on the O/P's statement, the kitten is obviously learning to like people. Most cats by nature are afraid of the unfamiliar, whatever the circumstances of their birth. It's what they experience during their lives that shapes their personalities. |

We took in a feral queen Siamese and her 5 kittens. 1 is a male Siamese and the sisters are all black. They were born in our shed on our property. They are all happy here and now behave normally after our loving care. Sadly, the mother died this past December of old age. We really miss her. |
