WAN Gateway Address

I'm trying to configure a Siemens SE5940 to work on my T1 connection. I can get everything linked up to the "SmartJack" and all the LED's go to normal but i am unable to connect to the www.
I noticed that my WAN Default Gateway is different from what it should be but have not been able to reset it. It keeps defaulting to the serial address for the T1.
What am I doing wrong?

The WAN IP and the WAN Gateway IP are usually supplied by the ISP connection. I have no T1 experience though, so I don't know what to check/configure. I'd suggest inquiring with your T1 supplier first and ask about the IPs in question.

I have tried entering the addresses supplied by AT&T but for some unknown reason the 5940 keeps ignoring what I input and coming up with the serial address from the line side of things. I have the "Manual" address box checked and the addresses outlined but it seems to have a mind of it's own!

Have you tried a reset to factory defaults and then tried to re-configure it?

That's where I started but I'm considering a redo just in case I missed something.

UPDATE!! WAN Gateway Address

I had to go into the command line section and inputed "reboot default".
This restored factory default settings and I was able to configure everything from there. Turns out that RIP was disabled via the CL. I'm actually connected to the www via it now.
If anybody needs it I have the full CD relating to this T1 "Router". It a pain to browse but got me out of the hole in the end.

Congratulations on your success!

If you wanted to, you could put the CD online as a image file aka a .ISO file (that's a bit for bit copy) so people could download it and recreate the CD with a Burner at their end. Use a free Program like ImgBurn here »www.imgburn.com/

Here is how to do it.

Once you get the .ISO file (you can name it SE5940.ISO for example) then tell me the total size of the .ISO so I can point you to free file hosting for the file depending on its size.

I would do that except it is too big at 28 meg to upload via my mail server. It exceeded my empty upload limits.
If you want I could snail mail a copy to you. I have just joined so you can PM me.

That's all? I was hoping it was closer to 250MB or 300MB. 28MB is nothing. Please make the image as I described and then upload the file for free here (it is not email, it is HTTP).

You don't even have to create an account there, you can simply go there, browse to the file you created using their web page browse button that will start the upload using your Browser and HTTP to their server. You do have to place a checkmark in the box that you agree to their terms by a clicking in the box below the upload dialog. It is pretty simple and pretty painless. Once the file is finished uploading, the page will refresh and give you the link to the File that you can post for myself and others to download.

The file you linked to/uploaded is named "siemensTechRef.pdf" and is an Adobe PDF file. It is on the CD with a bunch of other files. I thought you were going to copy the CD itself?

Thanks! Got it. Looks like you used Roxio to copy the CD Contents. That is different from a image copy but is ok.
