If you're lucky, Bell can make an "error" and put you on a better profile.

I'm lucky I guess. still on 7mbps profile since install. usually get 6.2 Mbps Down. I'm afraid to get another line as I'll prolly be bumped down to 5056

A 7Mbps profile does you little good if it keeps dropping out randomly for several minutes at a time for no apparent reason.

Since your line stats appear to be good enough for 7M, you might want to try a different modem to see if your modem may be the source of your problems before calling to have your line profile 'fixed'.

Last night speed tested I was up to 4548 Kbps (4333 Kbps is normal)

I had a feeling my line can go up much higher speed but it is being CAP down to 5Mbps.

The test meter hand (red pin) was flicking insane at the top mark of 4548Kbps lol.

It's just luck. I've been on 5, 6, 5, and now 7.
Right now I'm only 200 yard from a remote but the other ones I was pretty far away from the CO.

The only sure way would be to get Bell internet service.

They reserve the higher speeds as a competitive advantage, so they have some incentive to attract customers, compared to independent dsl providers.

in my case, I got a ADSL2 8510/888 profile a few days after I got my dry loop with Teksavvy... was at 5M at first, but a few days after, was bump to this profile... and it's been rock solid since day 1...

the other dry loop that I got with Acanac at this time was still running with the standard 5M profile...

still at 1.5mbit here. Yet im in the middle of a main city in ontario...

The sad thing is that those people in my neighbourhood have far worse internet connections then i do. Most likely due to not being setup at the demarc and others problems.

Sure love a stinger/rdslam nearby; but they cant afford to instal that technology... but they can afford to throttle us and buy those DPI machines.

.
Which of course is the only REAL reason that Bell Throttles us independents - because if they stopped doing this and their own sheeple, er, I mean customers heard about it, then a huge Torrential rain of new account requests would fall upon the Independent ISPs, which is primarily what had begun to happen during November 2007 thru March 2008, the first period that Bell was only fleecing, er, I mean throttling their own flock.

Re: Free Upgrade This Morning :)

Along with 7meg, you'll enjoy no throttling, as Bell thinks you're one of your own.
Same happened to my friend in the same town, both of us connected at the CO.
I have 5 meg, throttle. He has 7, no throttle.

Your not the only one that that's happened to. That happened to me a few months ago. Someone at bell has just selected the wrong option in lantern as a result you have more speed.

As long as bell doesn't need to check your line stats again you will probably be able to keep you 7megs.

Sorry to hijack this thread but can somebody explain what is Protocol T1.413 in the picture? Sometimes it says ADSL sometimes T1.413. What's the difference between them?
