Found this in the Google Voice Forum.

Part 1: how to setup GV with Gizmo

1. goto »www.gizmocall.com/gc/open.html
2. click register and create an account right away.. doesn't even have to be a valid email address
3. u can login to the flash app right away without validating anything
4. u will see a the dial pad with $0.00 balance. click on the $0.00
5. it will open a new window with buy credits, ignore it and click on 'My Account' or 'MY' link on the top-right
6. u will see ur new gizmo5 sip number there, copy it, come back to googlevoice and add it in the GV phone settings
7. when u click connect/contact in the GV window, remember the 2 digit code and wait for the call on the gizmo5 flash app window.
8. accept the call, wait 1 sec and then press the 2 digit code on the dial pad.
9. go back to GV page to see ur number being validated and accepted in real time.
10. Next register for an account to obtain a free US phone number with either »www.sipgate.com or »www.ipkall.com to forward your GV account to.(This is now necessary because GV now requires a US based number.)

Part 2: how to signup with ur gv invite from outside usa.

1. download and install. »www.ultrareach.com/downloads/ult···/u95.zip
2. once installed.. use ie browser. check ur ip on the map »www.privacy-gateway.com/whatismyip.html it should be somewhere in usa. u r in.
3. use ur gv invite wisely.

if ur invite says invalid or doesn't do what its supposed to, use ie browser and the steps below.
1. copy the inv. code link into ur clip board
2. log out of gmail
3. log back into the gmail account u want the number 2b tied to
4. open a new tab and paste the link in ur clipboard.

I have Opened gizmo account and got the SIP no.
Signed into my googlevoice and followed the instruction.

On step 3 it ask for a forwarding phone number to verify the account.
I entered the SIP number "error came the "at least one physical number must be added"

so I am stuck on Step 3.
The rest options are disabled until I complete these 4 steps.

Hi wikiwawa,

Just got yourself a Sip Gate One or IPKall US phone number for free and use that number to verify in addition to your Gizmo5 SIP Number. Google Voice must have changed that you have verify a physical number first to prevent non US residents for attempting to use and register for the service.

Well I registered for IPkall and still waiting.
however the sipgate still give me massage the I am outside USA even though I am using hotspot proxy.
I checked the proxy on the ip checker as in above link which tells me I am in Carolina, USA but still no joy with sipgate.
How can sipgate still think I am outsider??

Please let me know what proxy you used, I am also outside of the US right now.

Every time I use a proxy site it doesn't work, doesn't let me click things on the google voice website and most of it is blank where it should not be blank.

is that Hotspot Sheild?

This works for me to get UK Geographic Number from Sipgate.co.uk. Lot more exit points in the US. Should work for you.

It looks like you has someone in the US do it for you. Thats the easiest way to do it.
I am from the US, but I am currently in Canada for work and google did the same crap to me.

I luckily I have a company VPN for the US + a US magic jack number which worked to register.

Google will only work with US numbers, if you want to use google voice in the UK you need a voip line with a US phone number.

I suggest getting a Magic Jack, I paid $40 for it and I use it as my primary phone in Canada. It is unlimited for a year then $20 a year after that.

I would think you can activate it in the UK, but you might want to make sure. If not just buy a used on one ebay that is already activated or ask a ebay seller of a new one if they can activate it before they mail it to you.

When you use magic jack you will have unlimited calling in USA and Canada from your computer.

i had to use a private us vpn and sipgate just to register my google account...now im using it with my gizmo5 SIP #

use in canada is limited but i can still get free calls to us and 1c/min to canada for now...

I finally managed to set up a google voice account with hotspot shield and sipgate.
But now i have an other problem: How can i forward the google voice call to my mobile phone registered in Germany??
I tried it with gizmo5 but every time i add my mobile phone number to forward the calls to it ended messing up my phone number changing the +49 country code for Germany to 01149.

Has anyone an idea how to set up this properly?

google voice does not forward to any non us number.
you must use gizmo sip uri (which can be found in my account on gizmo)
