| [Equipment] D-Link DI-102
Has anyone used the D-Link DI-102 "VoIP accelerator" (in fact a QoS device) ? I bought one together with a VoIP adapter and D-Link doesn't appear to offer much support for it (my guess is it's already discontinued). The only thing they say on their web site is that the default IP should be 192.168.229.61 and although I performed a factory reset on it, it doesn't appear to respond to that IP (I connected a PC to it with a static IP in the same range). The box itself doesn't appear to be dead, it passes traffic from between LAN and WAN, it responds to factory reset, etc |

| Never mind, I found out my own answer: One shouldn't try to set the computer with an IP from the range 192.168.229.x. I just left the computer configured to use DHCP, connected it to the LAN side of the DI-102, and I connected the WAN side to whatever modem/router I would connect normally. The computer got an IP address from my router (in a totally different range, 10.x.x.x), but when I open a browser and type »192.168.229.61, the DI-102 "captures" the request and I get the web configuration page. Quite strange, in my opinion. And BTW, the device still doesn't respond to pings at 192.168.229.61 Now I should install it in the proper way (between modem and router) and see if it really makes a difference... |
