Me thinks you should go to the webmasters / development forum with this question. While a lot of us split time between the two, you'll probably get more webpage help over there.

More data, please.

What is your archive page? Is it something you're hosting? Are you asking for how to configure a directory listing in Apache?

Pretend I'm slow and need things to be explained in small steps. I'll play along just for effect.

I have no what the test message is or what you're trying to achieve.

It can be a linux page, but depending on what you need and what service is interacting with it would belong to a different category..

To display angle brackets in your post, use the codes & lt; and & gt;
(Added a space in each so it would display properly.)

So you are asking how to display a directory listing that looks like the one shown in your original post, using Apache?

this needs to be moved to webmaster/dev

If you want to render the HTML you need to go other way. Apache can display the text files, but wont render the HTML in the .txt file.

You are gonna need some sort CMS, unless you want to update the files manually, which i doubt you would want to do if it gets big.

FWIW, use

To get the text to show properly (on this forum)
that a
and
above and below the text to be displayed.
