| What's the Deal AT&T?
Well, the VRAD units have been up, and it appears running, for some time in my neighborhood...but alas they're saying it's still unavailable. I've tried calling and they've even transferred me to tech support to no avail. Their tech support people gave me a bs answer that I'm probably more than 3000 ft away from the VRAD and that's why it's not available; however, he claims they have no way of determining your distance from the VRAD. Seems odd that they can determine your distance from the CO for qualifying for DSL (which I have), but can't for U-Verse.
What's it going to take to get U-verse? Tired of the outrageous prices I'm paying for Comcast and my other half is an AT&T Management Employee, so we'd get a significant discount on the service. |

| Look at the sticky at the top of the forum on how to contact at&t techs. That will be your best option. They are correct they can't check your distance from the VRAD. This is unlike ADSL where they can run tests on your existing line to get a rough loop length. Until you hooked up no way to verify your actual distance. |

try the avail check on your neighbors addresses to see if it is ready for anyone close to you...your area probably just isn't green lighted for service yet.
There are many things and many different departments that have to finish work before the end product is ready to sell.
Just because the VRAD is there doesn't mean that service is ready. |

| I've already tried the neighbors and that's the frustrating part...I have neighbors within a block that have it available. That's why I called and was given the answer of well maybe you're just too far away from the VRAD. Which to me sounded like an answer to just get me off the phone. |

Carrollton, GA | I live probably like 1500 ft or less from the VRAD on my road and they still say its unavailable for everyone on this street, however the VRAD has been up and running for months. I think someones forgetting to update the website or something.. |
