| Cablem modem to Westell VersaLink
Hi
I switch from Verizon Wireless to TimeWarner as Verizon is not available in our area.
I got a cable modem from TimeWarner and it got only one ethernet out.
I want to connect my Verizon Wirless Router D90-327W15-06 with it.
I take the ethernet out from Cable Router and put in Eth1 of my DSL router.
I resetted the router and logged into the router. Since this seems to verizon specific router , I am not sure about the settings that I need to do. It seems to be using PPPoE , I am getting options of Bridged Then Bridged Routed... Etc.
When I chack Advance Wan, It try to search the WAN.. But doesn't give me any option to change DSL to ETH1 to make it work..
I am not sure what all the settings I need to make,, Any help is appreciated Thanks |

| reply to Krish I do know it is possible to use a 327w like the way you have it set up, though the option that you need to change in order to make this work is unknown to me as well. I'd have to be something under Advanced WAN/LAN though. -- It's all fun and games in a Team Fortress 2 battle until your sentry gun is sapped by the Spycrab! |

1 edit | reply to Krish Actually there is an option to change ETH 1 to do what you want. Look in Network Settings for something about configuring the VersaPort. The VersaPort is LAN or ETH Port 1, and can be changed from Private LAN mode to Ethernet WAN Uplink mode. This mode allows you to use the Router as an Ethernet Gateway (for example, connecting to a cable modem or to another ADSL device that provides WAN access). In WAN Uplink mode, the Router's DSL functionality is disabled. -- reboot, reset, reconfigure, then recycle. |

| Thanks for showing me the place.
One of my wireless laptop is getting connected.
Other doesn't connect, shows limited connectivity.
It's not assignning IP I guess.
The DHCP Server is enabled with some range which is default.
Any way I can get my other laptop to work wireless, I am using cable for it from the router.
Thanks Kaps |

1 edit | The Wireless Encryption Key may be wrong, that's often the case when "limited or no connectivity" on a wireless connection. But if the laptop that doesn't connect wirelessly uses Vista, or is newer that the 327, it could be a problem with the 327 firmware needing to be updated to work with the newer wireless devices and Vista. If that's the case, have a look at Verizon's help and support web site, help.verizon.net, for a firmware upgrade. (verizon.net/versalinkupdate may get you there). Locate the update for your exact model#, download it to your desktop and perform a LOCAL update from within the 327. You should also find a down-loadable .pdf User Guide at the help and support site , under Top Help Questions - if there's none for the 327, take the 7500, it's nearly the same. -- reboot, reset, reconfigure, then recycle. |
