| [Internet] BELL response time for business ADSL accounts?
A tech performed a line transfer yesterday (actually - about 24 hours ago now) and the connection has been gone ever since. This is not acceptable for a business account.
An employee on-site called Bell this am and was told the connection would be back by noon today (two hours ago). I spoke with the tech who was on-site yesterday and he said he was told the work was completed this morning, 6am (i think, we're in different time zones) I have talked to another Bell rep and was told another tech would be "rushed" out. Their definition of "rush" is sometime before the end of the business day. Pathetic.
Does anyone know what Bell's response time policy is for repairing failed business ADSL connections? Do they even have such a thing? |

@cgocable.net | reply to subl33t I've had customers out from 3 days to a week when a move order went bad.
One customer was on his cell phone for hours everyday pleading with them. His business lost thousands a day. Bell just doesn't give a shit anymore. |

| reply to subl33t when my neighbour moved in 4 years ago, they hooked his phone line up to my house and left my line disconnected...when i called in to get it fixed, they told me they would send someone to fix in 2 weeks (no, i am not exaggerating)...i told them i couldn't wait that long because i was currently using my neighbours phone line (which i am sure is against policy) and my phone line, internet and VoIP where no longer connected...they didn't care, and told me i would have to wait until that date for the tech to fix it...i told them it was probably a simply crossing of some wires and told them to page the tech who had just came out and send them back to fix it...they wouldn't...i was lucky enough to find a retired Bell tech who had been hired to do piece work in the area and was working on the house a few doors down...i explained my situation and pleaded with him...he said "No problem, let me take a look"...he opened up the "box" on my neighbours lawn, traced a few wires and reconnected everything...it took him, at most, 5 minutes...i tested my phone line and internet and everything was back to normal...that is an example of the "old Bell" (retired tech) and the new Bell (too bad, you will have to wait 2 weeks)...after that incident, i started to lose a lot of faith in the company i worked for (Bell). -- Today's motto: Dearly beloved, We are gathered here today to bid farewell to personal responsibility and accountability. |

We were about 45 minutes without DSL. -- Need-based health care not greed-based health care. |

I am sure DKS has been fortunate in getting exceptional service, and which shows in his passion in defending Bhell. I simply don't know what your arrangement with Bell is.
@dirtyjeffer, your experience seems to be more realistic of the service levels of Bell. That matches my experience. -- Bell Canada slows certain types of downloads to as little as 1.5 to 3 per cent of their advertised speed during 9½ hours of the day, but not to the same extent during the entire period, company executives revealed to Canada's internet regulator Tuesday. |

| reply to dirtyjeffer said by dirtyjeffer : i was lucky enough to find a retired Bell tech who had been hired to do piece work in the area and was working on the house a few doors down That is considered union work and the BTS contractors get all worked up about that.
I do whatever I can to get peoples service restored as I argued in this thread until it was locked. »Having a 3rd party come run my telephone line to the house? |

You are lucky you found one of us scabs to fix your phone.
You are also lucky the union goons didn't set up a picket line to stop the guy from doing so.
I had a couple in their 80s who waited 7 weeks to get their new home hooked up until I got there. Do you think the union goofs from Entourage now Bell Technical Solutions gave a shit? |

fortunately, i was saved by a "scab", ironically a "former" Bell employee made things better...of course, i was lucky enough to catch him myself...Bell wasn't interested in doing anything to resolve the issue. -- Today's motto: Dearly beloved, We are gathered here today to bid farewell to personal responsibility and accountability. |
