captifive posted : Update - They were back and said (after installing another dvr ) that the load balance was out of adjustment?? and this was something that had to be done in the program office. That was on 8/12/09 today is 8/28/09 and still nothing. But the new dvr has given a new set of problems. 15 to 45 second delay in receiving remote commands. And poor picture quality. blocky picselated pictures on some channels. Any one have any suggestions on how to get a person to fix this. I would never have their phone service judging by the crappy cable. HBO, Showtime, and the rest are a pain in the ass. They make it look like you get 9 channels but but 4 are the same on demand stations and one is in spanish and the same with the rest of the "premium" crap channels. RIP OFF

gadawg posted : I don't think it has anything to do with insight. I have watched football games at bars with Satellite and we get blown away when a commercial comes on. It is worse when you go from a DD 5.1 broadcast to a commercial. Regular shows it is not as bad.

captifive posted : Thanks, I did try that and it had a minimal change. The funny thing is I had the girl at Insight listen on the phone to the volume difference. And even she agreed that it was very bad. And then they just left me hanging for two weeks. The Dish is starting to look good :)

captifive posted : I had an Insight repairman come on 7/27 and he replaced the DVR. This had no effect on the volume problem. But now an old problem I had is back, Remote delay when changing channels (Damn annoying) Anyway the repairman told me the volume problem was in the "trap" I always called a splitter on the pole, He said they had to have a Lineman come to fix that. Today 8/12 I called Insight and asked what happened to my lineman? She had no idea. But now another repairman is coming 8/14. I asked her if he was allowed to fix the lines and was assured this guy could. :uhh: I wonder what this guy will come with.

captifive posted : I have a 42LG50 hdtv and Motorola DCT6416 III. The volume on different channels varies to where I go from 18 on the Weather Channel to 100 on the Military Channel. It isn't a Dolby digital problem. I have switched out the Motorola box with a DCH6416 + a new HDMI cable. (no change) Same problem using the component hookup. Also tried HDMI 2 and 3 inputs (no change)
Insight has been here 3 times and said it must be the tv. LG said if the dvd player isn't having a problem it's the cable box then.
Have I just not got the right cable guy yet? or is it LG? the tv is still under the warranty. :(
