Re: [iO] Cablevision/TWC vs. FioS Commercial Why do you think the commercial is good? it's just a poor attemp by botch cable companies, because at the time their networks just dont compare to FIOS. I just switched from cablevision and could not be happier with Verizon FIOS. My picture always pixelated on on my HD channels when there was too much fast moving action or big explosions. My Boost internet 30/5 connection never reached more than 18Mbps. I have been a cablevision customer for over 10 years and their service has degraded over those years each year. Cable CO's need to fix up theier networks and provide their services in a better manner instead of making mis-leading commercials, Everything about my FIOS service is better. I have a much better HD picture, I have a muh better SD picture. I have more On demand tittles. My internet connection works at the advertised speeds all day long no matter what time of day it is. If you have never seen fios in person I can understand your not understanding what um talking about. I used to be the same way up until 3 weeks ago. Verizon FIOS mostly lives up to everything they advertise. I cannot say the same for cablevision or Time warner for that matter. |
jefePremium join:2001-05-19 Northport, NY | Here are the charges from my last FiOS bill:
FiOS Triple Freedom $94.99 TV additional Services $27.96 Taxes, Fees, & Other charges $17.98 Total $140.93
Since that bill I re-upped for the 35/20 plan (previously 20/5) for another $5/mo, and all Showtime channels for another $5/mo.
My service includes 2 HD boxes, one of which is a DVR. Multi-room DVR (so I can see programming that was recorded on the DVR on the non-DVR HD box in another part of the house), and 3 SD boxes for our 3 non-HD TV's.
Remote DVR is included, so I can manage recordings on the DVR via the Web using any brower...or from my Blackberry.
My last bill at CV was $145.04. That was for regular (no Boost) OOL, family cable, 2 iO boxes, iO DVR. NO movies, or any speical channels. At the time I was paying ~$60 mo for my POTS line, which I can't give up.
So for me, the savings I'm seeing is my POTS line is now included in my monthly package. Thus the $60 I figure I'm saving. And for that, I get really good TV picture quality. Lots of channels, HD and SD. Showtime. And 35/20 (that tests out closer to 35/30 24/7).
FiOS is working for me. |
