[TOURISM] Any suggestions for a one or two night family trip?

I'd like to take the family away for a night or two. I've considered NYC, which would be great, but can't find much in the way of discounted accommodations for 5.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a close by destination with reasonable family rates?

We just went to NYC last weekend we live in NECT and while you could drive in to the city for the day we also went to PA and did a few things as well. We stayed in Somerset NJ in a suite hotel for 85 bucks plus tax. King bed and sleep sofa but I am sure they have other rooms. It was about a year old and in very good shape. We were in NYC with in an hour via the Lincoln tunnel 8 bucks in free going out. Then parked at 50 west 44st street for 16 bucks for 12 hours. Between 6th and 5th Ave.

Note weekend rates are cheaper then durn the week. Thursday was 145 but Friday and Saturday were at the lower rate.

Don't know how old the kids are but the Crayola factory tour is only about 40 minutes from the Hotel in Easton PA. We also went to PA Dutch which is about 120 miles but my wife likes to go there.

The hotel is in a nice safe area and there were alot of families there on the weekend. Indoor pool even a place to play basketball outside and they server a hot breakfast as well that could save you 50 bucks if you don't have to go out.

Agreed! Stay across the bridge in North Kingstown/Wickford for cheaper accomodations and drive in. The cliff walk and the mansions are awesome and the shopping and food downtown are great.

Southern VT is nice this time of year. You can usually get a condo at one of the ski areas pretty darn cheap in the off season.
