cypherstream : I have a SBV5220.

Awhile back they removed all of the Telephony Logs. This morning I noticed that my wife was booted off her instant messenger program. So I go to check the logs and there were none. Now there's only one log there:
2009-10-27 10:45:32	7-Information	B403.0	Auth Comp

Thats it!

Again NOTHING in the Telephony logs. I remember when I first got triple play, there were all kinds of messages, mac and IP addresses listed, etc...

Seems like the MSO can customize the log output. I didn't get a firmware update either, still on:
Model Name: SBV5220
Firmware Version: 17.6.3-SCM-05
Vendor Name: Motorola
MTA Firmware name: SBV5220-17.6.3-SCM-05-SHCC
Boot Version: 8.2
Hardware Version: 2
BCMA Firmware Version: 01.10
MIB Version: II
GUI Version: 1.0
VxWorks Version: 5.4
Firmware Build Time: Mar 12 2008 14:33:01

deluzion : This is ridiculous. Cocmast hiding log entries from its customer's equipment, then pointing at that equipment as the cause of all problems.

IMO, the purpose of lacking log entries in the SB6120 is to reduce your chances of finding out you are paying for "lightning fast" and not getting "lightning fast."

When someone goes to speedtest.net they see speeds beyond their current service level. I pay for 12/2 and the speed test claims 21/10. So they would be inclined to think it is working at the speed they are paying for. If they download from a local mirror, they would think that mirror is simply slow at the time.

I just upgraded to Ultra and saw no improvement whatsoever. Still 1.4 MB/sec from friggin' Hurricane Electric (and others)! They simply didn't upgrade me, but charged me of course.

Now after I made a big stink about my modem not receiving the Ultra log file, I find out they are hiding that from me.

Called exec, wrote wecanhelp, but it was 11am on a Friday so I guess I'll get the standard "please understand" sometime Monday of Tuesday.

kd2pm : Is anyone else having issues with their log page? I only see one entry and I have watched it for a few days.
