Re: [iO] Cablevision/TWC vs. FioS Commercial

I couldn't agree more. FIOS service is so much better than cables for the money you pay...and it costs less to boot. I actually look forward to watching TV. In 10 years of false promises from cable to upgrade the outdated RG-59u wiring in my building that led to constant trouble calls from everyone here, and the techs just coming out and switching lines back and forth from the junction box....just deplorable.

I received my first FIOS bill and had to call because of an activation fee that was supposed to be waived. I was through to a rep in less than 5 minutes, unlike any call ever made to cable, then mentioned that the activation fee was supposed to be waived as the rep who signed me up (and I gave his name ) promised. Without me even finishing my sentence the fee was waived and on top they gave me 90 days free for the movie package. The rep was polite, was kidding around, and was sorry for me when i mentioned I used to work for cable, and did not sound like a micro-managed robot that was nervous about saying the wrong thing. It was truly a pleasant experience and more like a chat with a friend on the line. Now that is what I call customer service, not once in 20 years with cable and working for them for 5 in that span did I ever recieve such a quick and to the point conclusion without hassle and got something for free on top. By the way, I just received my second bill and it was 79.99 for all 3 services...right on target.

Oh, and to add, I finally had to call cable for the 3rd time after disconnecting because they keep billing me although i was promised by the walk in center rep upon returning equipment, and another rep I had to call to stop billing me, they actually owed me money for cancelling before the end of the month...we shall see if this last rep did his job correctly and the check is on its way as he advised. I never called to cancel service, just dropped everything off at a walk in center and cancelled. This guy then asked me what he could offer to go back to cable, I told him; you could offer me free service for the next 2 years and I still would not come back and hung up....love how they treat you like crap for years, then when it's really way to late, try to butter you up...quite pathetic and desperate....guess they must be feeling the pinch from FIOS with the lame, misleading commercials and desperate pleas to bring you back.

I feel the same way Patriot. I look forward to looking at tv because I know it's going to look pristine. I gave cablevision as long as I could possibly give them to improve service, and I think 6 years is long enough. The Cable CO's need to stop pushing these misleading commercials and spend that money on their networks so they can bring more to table to compete with FIOS. FIOS is superior to Cable in almost every way, and anyone else who disagrees is either misinformed or in denial.
