I have window 7 RC1 (vista on a diet). It's built-in WiFi is absurd. It was implemented by people who are grossly incompetent. Try the xp drivers with Vista Anti Lag. I am getting disconnected about once every 10 minuets on my New ASUS laptop. My wife has a cheap gateway laptop that is 3 years old and she has only occasional disconnect problems. Both laptops are running Vista.

I have called Linksys 3 times to try to fix the problem to no avail. I even paid them $10.00 to take control of my desktop and configure the router. When the Linksys tech set the router up they had to lower the security settings to WEP so that it would work with my wife’s laptop. I have even tried to move the router to different shelves and away from my cable modem.

Should I get a new router that is a different brand? Should I get a second router and let my wife continue to use the old one that works for her? Or is there another solution?
