Canopy Questions

I'm just starting to look into canopy for certain applications in my rollout plans now. But I can't seem to find a whole lot of info on the system and the components needed so maybe you guys can help.

What is the difference between the regular AP's and the advantage AP's?
What is needed for a minimum setup? Just an AP and SM? How many AP's before you need GPS timing?
How are the units managed? Web based or do they have an app? (IE winbox)
How many users per AP?
Whats the difference between P9 and p10 units?

Thank you for the info..

Inline,

What is the difference between the regular AP's and the advantage AP's?
Max throughput.

You can start out with just one ap and a omni antenna and then upgrade as you need to. As soon as you fire up the second ap, I would do sync. With companies such as Packet Flux and Last Mile Gear, GPS timing modules are cheap.

How are the units managed? Web based or do they have an app? (IE winbox)
Web based configuration.

How many users per AP?
Varies based on frequency and a host of other variables, but more than you can put on a similar 802.11a,b,g system.

Whats the difference between P9 and p10 units?
Processor speed and packets per second capacity. Don't go older than a P9 so that you can do hardware scheduling.

Than is what I know about it.

You could start out with an omni and one SM.

I've got a 2.4 omni advantage AP that was purchased through last mile gear and I have been running 120 people off it without issues.

Any more than 1 AP you need sync, doesn't need to be GPS you can time them via the sync port and an rj11 cable wired correctly but you should get GPS anyways.

Get a P10 if you can, more pps. Again nothing lower than P9. You don't want to be doing software scheduling.
